"Here, O my Lord, I see you face to face; here would I touch and handle things unseen. Here grasp with firmer hand the eternal grace, and all my weariness upon you lean." We welcome you to join us in the sacrament of Holy Communion! At St. John's United Church of Christ, the Communion Table is "open to all Christians (baptized persons) who wish to know the presence of Christ and to share in the community of God's people." (Book of Worship UCC). To Help You Feel At Home We want you to feel comfortable when you take communion with us. Our Communion Brochure titled Welcome to Christ's Table will answer several commonly asked questions about the meaning of Communion and about how Communion is celebrated at St. John's United Church of Christ. How Often Do We Serve Communion? At St. John's we serve communion on the first Sunday of each new liturgical season. There are also seasons of the church year (Advent and Lent) when we offer communion every Sunday. The 2007-2008 Communion Schedule provides a list of the worship services that will include communion between Dec. 2, 2007 and Nov. 16, 2008. |
